Mr. ESE's Adventure v0.12.0b


After about a week of sick leave (as COVID-19 finally caught up to me) resulting in having to push the release to the month after I’d initially intended to publish it, Mr. ESE’s Adventure v0.12.0b is finally complete!  Hopefully it was worth the wait.

Patch notes

+New storyline; After getting the heck out of that tower, the DownTownean Dream Team proceed to board a new ship that would be able to take them to the outskirts of DownTownea, where they would stumble upon a brand new island.  What is that island, and who will await them when they get there?
+Added the following plugins:

  1. CGMV Menu Command Window; Vital for pause menu customization.
  2. CGMV Achievements; Now you can complete achievements in Mr. ESE’s Adventure!  More will be added down the line, and you might need to start a new save file in order to get them all.
  3. QPlus; another base plugin.
  4. QInput; for mapping the “Enter Vehicle” command to a button on the controller.
  5. Iavra Splash Video; For improving the splash screen drastically!

+Added voice lines for Mr. ESE and the Narrator from Cave 2 to the Supreme Spellcaster battle
+Added voice lines for Mr. ESE and the Narrator from the start of the new storyline to Cave 3
+Added two new powerups; Droplet Boulder and Rose Splash, for Mr. ESE and Lisa respectively
+Added some Armour accessories as part of the Achievement update
+Added two new enemies for the caves; the Rockboulder and the Stonepebble
+Added the interior for the Ship
+Added some trees to DownTown Village (in the DownTownea map)
*Cyber Zappy, introduced in v0.11.0b, can now be used by all party members, not just Mr. ESE
*Altered the timings in the dialogue boxes in the first couple of Common Events
*Changed the animation for Watasplash from Water One 2 to Water One 1
*Altered Grace’s bio to reflect something you’ll learn about her through the Quiz doors in Cave 2
*Changed the animation for Lavasplash from Water One 2 to Fire One 1
*Fixed the two dungeon doors at Grace and Cleo’s cells to actually stay shut until a Dungeon Key is used on them
*Fixed the dungeon door in Grace’s Cell somehow shapeshifting into Miss Clovaton herself when she woke up
*Patched a bug in the previous major release where the Dungeon Keys wouldn’t be consumed when used to unlock the doors in the Camp Laryss Dungeons
*The liquoslops now have their attack elements implemented
*Changed The Twisting Tornado’s attack element from Darkness to Wind
*Patched out the Quiz doors reappearing whenever the player re-entered that room
*Grace’s TP meter should no longer go up exponentially when she uses her “Good Luck” ability.
*Altered the description for the “Bad luck!” ability
*Implemented an animation for the following items:

  1. Magic Water
  2. Magic Spray
  3. Instant Medicine Splash

*Fixed a bug in Tower 1 that prevented the player from reaching the end of the previous beta if they’d checked the cell on floor 4 the first time they went in
*Changed the identity of one of the five supernatural beings in the Mysterious Book.
-Removed a repeated voice line in Tower 1 that wasn’t supposed to be there
